Kibale Forest; Safari Destination Profile

Today, I would like to feature one of my many interesting safari destination; Kibale Forest National Park and its environs in Western Uganda. Many people head to this place mainly for chimps tracking, but there is a lot more than just that; from the amazing people, general scenery(amazing view of Mt Rwenzori), birds to insects and many more that makes this place fit for a holistic experience
The Kibale-Fort Portal area is one of Uganda’s most rewarding destinations to explore. The park lies close to the tranquil Ndali-Kasenda crater area and within half a day’s drive of the Queen Elizabeth, Rwenzori and Semuliki National Parks, as well as the Toro-Semliki Wildlife Reserve.
Kibale Forest National Park is one of the best safari destination in Africa for chimpanzee trekking in Uganda. Kibale’s 795km2  National Park contains one of the most beautiful and with the most varying tracts of tropical forest in the whole of Uganda. This is place to a number of forest wildlife, most especially 13 species of primate and is famously known for Chimpanzee tracking. The Forest covering predominates in the central and northern part of the park on the raised
It also contains over 375 birds’ species. Kibale adjoins Queen Elizabeth National Park to the south to create a 180km-long corridor for wildlife between Ishasha, the remote southern sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, and Sebitoli in the north of Kibale National Park. #
